The Development

The boy and the girl in preschool learning of initial literacy process begins from the moment that begins to know his environment, to learn songs, rounds, to interpret images, which although do not know code written knows that there are letters and symbols that have meaning. In the same manner are investigations of Ferreiro and Teberosky (1982) 3, who established that there is an evolutionary progression in the development of reading and writing for children and that this development process begins long before the time that the child enters for the first time in school. The authors identified a series of developmental stages of reading that starts at the moment that the child begins to distinguish between text image, although still has no knowledge of code to begin to decipher the words. Similarly, identified in the development of writing a series of stages, which include some very initiate them in which the student still doesn’t write conventionally. This invented writing, discovered the authors, shows a systematic logic and a typical progressive evolution of all children’s writers.

Presilabico writer, for example, begins to realize the difference between drawing and writing and mimics the symbols seen in Scripture. Little by little, the writer acquires knowledge of the conventional lyrics. This study and many others demonstrate the importance of understanding the evolutionary process of reading and writing and, as a teacher, identify at what stage a student found to be able to offer instruction appropriate to their level of development. These findings have implications for teaching practice and continuous evaluation that needs to be done during the first years of schooling. Preschool children arrive at school fearful, insecure, with problems that may be linguistic, social or physical and expectations and some knowledge that to find a dynamic, creative and investigative and affectionate teacher relationship fondness provides them of solid training bases with a great readiness of adaptation will not have problems to relate with others and thus their weaknesses will be strengthened and develop communication skills that will be easy to relate to others and acquire a good comprehensive training and good habits in reading and writing.
