This is no accident nor is it arbitrary or capricious choice, but is due to the fact that this is the only complete and reconciled between the columns normalized to a single date-date (due to lack of stocks of certain territories and dependencies in the annual estimates for the IDB and UN-CIA).On the other hand, would be a bad idea to sort the table according to the third column (the last census), since-as shown in the table itself-the dates of the latter are often quite dissimilar or different from each (dist to several years in some cases), which significantly affect the direct comparability between populations dropped by them.
